Added by @haas_hayden Instagram post Cinnamon Caramel Rolls: Serves 4-6 ( if people have 2) Makes about 9 rolls Ingredients: Dough: 3 1/2 -4c all purpose flour with a little for dusting 1/2tsp ground cardamom 3 or 4 passes or shakes dry or fresh nutmeg 1 packet active dry yeast 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 cup of warm (water or milk) 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil Filling: 1 stick of unsalted butter, divided in half and softened 1/4c granulated sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp cardamom 1/2cup light or dark brown sugar Frosting: Remaining butter 1 block or cream cheese 2c powdered sugar or less if you like a glaze A pinch of salt, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp cardamom 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1 tsp vanilla extract The teeniest drop of almond extract -optional - a drizzle of heavy cream if you like a thinner frosting About 1/4 c Caramel for topping or how ever much you like Add all your dough ingredients to a mixing bowl with the dough attachment and mix for 6-10 minutes until sticky but pulls away from edges or bowl and your hands. Place in an oiled bowl and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place until doubled in size. Roll dough out until it’s the size of a cookie sheet (about 9x13) and butter, sugars, and spices and roll until a tight log. Cut into as many desired rolls. (I did about 2” pieces) place in lined casserole dish and let rise for 30mins to 1 hour. Set oven to 350. When rolls have doubled in size place in oven to bake for 25-30 minutes. Frosting: clean your bowl and add frosting ingredients using the paddle attachment whip up your frosting; no more than 5 minutes. Take rolls out to cool for 10 minutes in pan and frost. Drizzle with caramel rolls and enjoy immediately! -
