An inlaid wood suzuribako (writing box) and cover By Muchu, Meiji Period The flush-fitting cover decorated with a single sprig of camellia, inlaid in Shibayama-style with pewter, mother-of-pearl, white and green lacquer, reserved on a basketwork ground, the underside and sides also woven with a simulated basketwork design, the interior of plain natural wood, containing an en-suite, movable, fitted wood tray for an ink-stone and bronze water-dropper, signed Muchu.
