"Fika" in Swedish means having a coffee break, with one's colleagues, friends, date, or family. It is a cultural institution and is a way to take a break in the middle of the day to meet and chat with friends and get that all important jolt of, not necessarily caffeine but, social interaction. Having a fika is central to Swedish Life. It always goes with a cinnamon roll or some biscuits or cookies. Happy Fika day everyone!
