Dust bath I made for our chickens. I used an old grill lid for the top and a galvanized bucket for the bottom. Beads are strung on plastic coated wire and screwed to the inside of the lid so they can't come off.

an empty metal boat sitting in the sand

Look what I just did...! Made a dust bath area for my chickens. This is an old (bottom) rusted out watering tank. I used the cutting torch (my High School offered Shop Classes to girls as well) and cut off the bottom half. Then buried the remainder in the ground. Left about 8" exposed. It measures 6' L x 2 1/2' W. I've got some wood stove ash already in there and will add some sand and Diatomaceous Earth later. I'm real tickled with it!!
