Most people think it’s the heat that a tunnel provides that encourages this sort of growth, but this tunnel actually gets colder at night than my field grown flowers!

Here’s 3 reasons why tunnels can improve the overall growth and quality of your plants (I’ve learned most of these things from you all)!

• light diffusion—the plastic on a tunnel diffuses the suns light which can improve the spatial light distribution, thus increasing each plants’ ability to photosynthesize!

At this point in the season, the summer vining plants are often tall and plenty of space has opened up underneath.  By planting seedlings, or sowing seeds, under your summer plants such as tomatoes and cucumbers, it allows you to establish new plants while the old ones are finishing, at which point I’ll just cut the old plants at the base, allowing the roots to degrade and feed the soil life.
