With a couple recent threads about layout of lapstrakes, and square rigging a Viking Longboat, this piqued my curiosity. I recall seeing the ancient longboat in the museum in Oslo a few years back, and being amazed/dumbfounded about how they got that up-sweep in the strakes at the stem and stern.
