This week, my teaching life revolved around weather! Here are some of the super-fun awesome things we did this week! I used Can It Rain Cats and Dogs? this week for my nonfiction mentor text. My kids were obsessed with it! They wanted me to read the whole thing, but we only read about what […]

I love teaching science with hands-on activities because reading about science isn't the same as doing it. Some of my favorite projects and experiments for a second or third-grade weather unit include creating a cloud in a bottle, demonstrating the water cycle in a bag, and keeping a weather log. The free weather activities in this blog post are fun for kids. Plus, you'll find printables for teaching about weather tools, instruments, symbols, and vocabulary. 2nd, 3rd, 4th #weatheractivities Extreme Weather Activities For Kids, Water Cycle In A Bag, Cloud In A Bottle, January Weather, Weather Unit Study, Weather Experiments, Weather Activities Preschool, Teaching Weather, Weather Activities For Kids

When the weather outside is....crazy. You know - super warm one day, super cold the next - raining like cats and dogs one day, sunny as summer the next. At least, that's the way winter break has been in these parts. How about you? I actually think it's going to make our weather unit super fun when we go back to school next week! It's already one of my favorite science units to teach because it is so interactive! We make our own wind vanes to observe the wind's direction. We make a class…

With learning what the different weather patterns are, it is just as important to understand what causes weather. Students can create this chart as a reference. Also I could turn this chart into a game where I add a spinner to the middle of the chart and call on groups of students to give an example of a weather pattern for whichever spot the pointer lands on. 2nd Grade Weather Activities, Kids Weather Chart, Weather Instruments Project, Weather Tools Activities, Weather Anchor Chart, What Is Weather, Teaching Weather, Weather Tools, Science Anchor Charts
