Attach the zipper to your garment and make sure there is some excess length at the end of the zipper. 2. Cut off the excess down to 6–7 cm (about 2 3/4”). 3. Cut along the zipper teeth, stopping 2 cm (3/4”) short of the marked zipper end. Cut off the zipper teeth leaving the tape intact. 4. Seal the tape edges with a lighter. 5. Fold the tape edges over the zipper end, placing one on top of the other. Press for convenience. Fold the remaining edges under the seam allowances and cut off the excess. 6. Secure by machine-stitching along the edges of the seam allowances.
