The Saab JAS 39 Gripen is a fourth-generation lightweight multi-role combat aircraft designed by Industrigruppen JAS, FMV and manufactured by the Swedish aerospace company Saab to replace the Saab 35 Draken and 37 Viggen in the Swedish Air Force. The Gripen uses the latest technologies having advanced aerodynamic layout able to perform various missions, such as air defense, interception, ground attack, reconnaissance and can take off and land on short-strip airfields.
