September 13, 1936: Bob Feller, seventeen, strikes out 17 batters for the Cleveland Indians in a game against the Philadelphia A’s. The 17 strikeouts sets an American League record (since broken) and ties the major league record set by the Cardinals’ Dizzy Dean in 1933.
