All About the Renaissance of Miraflores
We are so excited to finally debut some Paul Schatz patterns that we’ve been sitting on for a while! Why have we been keeping them all to ourselves? Well, it takes a while to roll our new designs. We wanted to launch these 20 newbies as part of a full collection, so we have been hard at work on a storyline, installation photos, multiple colorways of multiple patterns, experiments with different materials, etc.

What’s on the Container? Calacatta, Blue Macauba, and Blue Bahia
From the mountains of Italy, Spain, India, and China, to the quarries of Turkey, Greece, and Afghanistan, New Ravenna sources materials from all over the world! Yes, gorgeous marbles and exquisite limestones are imported to our tiny little coastal town of Exmore, Virginia by plane, ship, and train – among other sources of transportation.

What’s on the Container? Platinum & Gold Glass
When it comes to glass, no one does it better than Italy. The glass-making techniques in Italia have been handed down through generations of families for centuries, and the processes require exceptional skill, knowledge, and attention to detail. There is a long history behind the decorative and art glass you see in many of our mosaics, and we treat the materials with the utmost respect as we weave them into our own pieces of art at our factory in Exmore, Virginia.

Hues on First: The Triumphant Return of Color
. The studio floor at New Ravenna was sprinkled with so many multicolored stone scraps it looked like a parade had just passed through. To paraphrase French artist Paul Cèzanne, “we lived in a rainbow of chaos.” But it wasn’t enough for us…so we added jewel glass to our material offering at New Ravenna for some saturated drama. Not only did we now have a beautifully stacked palette…but we knew exactly how to use it. The outcome? Outrageously fabulous mosaics.

Say Bonjour to Liliane™ by Caroline Beaupère
We love any opportunity to design alongside our friend and guest designer, Caroline Beaupère. Her first tile collection, Jardins Français, was a wonderful and elegant addition to our portfolio, so we invited her to our studio in Virginia to get started on new concepts soon after it launched.

McKinnon and Harris x New Ravenna, Bespoke Mosaic Tables
A visit to a McKinnon and Harris showroom will reveal our co-founder and CEO, Will Massie’s, affinity for antiquities, both as objects of beauty and sources of design inspiration. The showrooms themselves are loosely inspired by Greek and Roman architecture, and the use of materials and collection of artifacts stem from Will’s belief that patina and age enhance the beauty of objects.
