Goldmania violiceps, Violet-capped Hummingbird. Range from central Panama to northwest Colombia. Found in forest and edge in the foothills from around 600–1,200 m. It forages for nectar in dense undergrowth, feeding mainly on low flowering shrubs like Salvia, Pachystachis, Palicourea and Psammisia. Song is a low, rapid chirping.
