One of the remarkable group of four coats preserved in the Swedish Army Museum. The buttoned-on, loose cuffs have only survived in two of these coats. The vertical pockets are a fashion of the 1680s. The pockets slits open up into one big pocket. This is believed to be an inspiration for the first documented Swedish army uniform, commonly dated to 1687. One such coat survives, but it is believed by some to be a prototype.
