F/O Thomas Peter Kingsland Higgs (1917-1940) Born in Oldham, he attended Merton College, Oxford, where he studied Modern History–Higgs joined 111 Squadron at Croydon in May 1940. On the 10th July, in a Hurricane, was attacked over the channel off folkstone, taking evasive action he collided with a Do17,and lost a wing at 6000 ft. He baled out but was killed. His body was washed up on the dutch coast at Noordwijk on the 15th August. He was buried at Noordwijk General Cemetery.
