This lovely vintage woven textile from Peru is a Mastana or altar cloth, collectible folk art woven for ceremonial use. The piece is made of wool (sheep, I believe) and was woven on a floor loom in two pieces, sewn together in the center. It's double woven, so the images appear in reverse colors on the back.
