As always, my soul is drawn to the quiet, the desolate, the places no one has seemed to step foot in months, years or even decades. While driving the quiet roads of Iceland, a random little gravel road caught my eye and I just had to go down it. It was a bit rough on my little Iceland rental car but nonetheless, we made it. There I found myself surrounded by fields of gentle rolling hills, tall grasses and blue-grey mountains in the distance. This beautiful, old, broken, untouched-in-years barn stood beside me...a quiet place of its own in a world so full of things and busyness, and lights, and crowds, and noise. Here she stood, proud, beautiful, peaceful, and unapologetic of the vast space she calls her own. I captured this feeling here, in this particular shot, to remind us that beauty is found sometimes in the most unexpected, peaceful places no one else cares to roam. Yet if you go to a place like this, less traveled, you will find more than just beautiful things, you will find a deeper connection the truth you hold in your soul.
