They are perfect for concealing your panels and blinds or just to enliven and add height to any room! MEASURING: Please provide me with the finished width and length that you would like on your completed straight valance. -LENGTH - Most shades are between 14 & 20 inches long. If you are not sure about length I recommend hanging up a pillow case at different lengths in order to get a good idea of how much of your window you would like to cover -WIDTH - If you are hanging it inside of your window frame, I need the width of your window frame, less an 1/8 of an inch per side. You do not want these to touch the sides of your frame or they will bunch up and not lay flat. If you are hanging it on the outside of your window frame I recommend having it line up with the outside edges of your molding, or 2-3 inches past the edge of your window frame. LINING: I do recommend it. Lining really helps to fill out the folds and hold the structure of the valance. It also protects it from fading. If you are providing your own heavy wight fabric and your shade is protected with blinds you do not need lining. FABRIC: Valances can be ordered in any of my home decor fabrics OR you can choose your fabric in the 'home decor' section at fabric.com. I am happy to use other fabric suppliers as well. I cover $10 of each yard in the cost of the shade. For fabric over $10 per yard, the difference will be added to your order. If ordering from a supplier other then fabric.com there may be an additional shipping fee as well. If you already have your fabric, you can ship it to me and $10 will be taken off the price of each valance. Keep in mind, colors on your computer screen vary so please contact me or fabric.com for a swatch. My swatches are complimentary. HANGING YOUR VALANCE: These valances have a two-and-a-half inch pocket at the top, so they can be used with most curtain rods. I do not provide the rods, but here are some very affordable options: For shades mounded inside of your window most prefer the tension rod.
