Turkdean is a small village just north of Northleach very near to the Roman Fosseway. Indeed there are strong Roman connections as a large villa complex on the escarpment beyond the village was the subject of several Time Team digs, The attractive village church 'All Saints' is Norman in origin but was rebuilt in the Perpendicular style in the 15th century, when a tower was inserted into the west end of the nave.
