"Pierrot à la hussarde" bodice, France, 1780/1790. This bodice called "Pierrot", short jacket fitted to small Basque illustrates the transition of the fashion at that time. The fabric which is blue "Nattier" taffeta silk brocaded gold with "décors à la rivière ", probably seems to be earlier. This "Pierrot" was often worn with a, embroidered cotton gauze skirt. Fully lined with white linen. Pleated ribbon ivory silk faille on the neck and six steel buttons on each wrist.
