Remarkable, Perhaps Unique, Articulated Carved Folk Art Horse of Substantial ScaleNortheast America, ca. 4th quarter, 19th century. Carved from pine, decorated with oyster white paint body with blue and black dappling. Original horse-hair mane and tail, tack eyes, and horse shoes made of tin. Likely made as a wind up toy or velocipede with moveable head, tail, ears, and legs.
